T-shirt donations that didn’t make the "cut" but have us in stitches! August 16 2013, 0 Comments

We can't thank everyone enough for all of the t-shirts that have been donated to Rethreaded this past year!  We've received thousands of t-shirts that have been upcycled into new products. With those thousands of t-shirts came a few special items that have grown near and dear to our hearts. You won't be seeing these on the showroom floor anytime soon, so we thought we'd share them with you in this blog post.

First up is the Steel Pony.  This sleeveless T won our hearts with its immediate cool factor and bold style. The Steel Pony makes no bones about it, this shirt was built for the road. It's a great top for a motorcycle ride, and will turn whoever wears it into a cool biker, instantly. And with all that bling glimmering in the sun as you cruise on your hog, you'll be sure to be noticed, which we think is a nice safety feature.

Our next item is a modern classic. This "heart"warming little number simply has too much purpose in the world for us to cut up and re-purpose.  We've come to think of it as high end gardening fashion. What's more important than maintaining a good garden?  To look good doing it.  This shirt accomplishes both through the magic of puff paint.  Seriously, is there anything puff paint can't do?

Rethreaded is built on the idea of thinking outside of the box.  Clearly our donors are aware of this, because the next garment speaks for itself.  We're not sure what to say, other than we take it as a compliment that someone thought we were "out of the box" and creative enough to transform this…unique…spiderweb collar into, well, into anything other than a spiderweb collar.

Just like the snowflakes it showcases, our last item is a one-of-a-kind.  This turtleneck is perfect for the man who…the man that enjoys…it's perfect for…uhhh…this shirt has snowflakes!  A lot of purple snowflakes.  We're pretty sure purple snowflakes are "in" for men's fashion this winter, so we're holding on to this one.

We hope you enjoyed this "behind-the scenes" look at Rethreaded.  While we are poking  a little fun, we want to say again how incredibly thankful we are for all the donations we've received.  We couldn't do this without you!
